What Is Leadership To You?

Everything rises and falls with leadership.
Without great leadership, great organisations can fall.
Before I talk more on leadership, let’s define what is leadership to you?

The leader and team must be heading in the same direction, wanting the same outcome. Even if certain members of the team are in dissagreement then respect for the leader should mean you follow for the positive outcome for the whole team. A good leader will strive to bring out and nurture qualities in you from within, even if they can see that eventually you will leave their team. A good leader listens and motivates rather than dictates
True leadership is when you are sitting in a room of people and there is a question, whoever the majority of the room looks at for an answer is the true leader. Followers elect true leaders.
To be a great leadership, one must lead his team in same route and respective to each other so to achieve 1 goal. Leader must have a firm and decisive mind. Willing to open door all time listening to all member on their feedbacks. Decision made firmly after serious discussion and must be agreed with all team members.

How are you man? Cool site you got here. I can really see it grow.
Here is my personal experience with leaders.
The leaders in my life has always been encouraging and always believe 100% in my potential, even when I doubt myself.
Leaders should always be the one to support the people, and never the other way around. It is the reason why they are leaders in the first place.
I know this may sound crazy, but remember the triangle organization chart where at the top we have a single leader and the bottom is where the majority of people are. I think, a true leader sees this chart upside-down. The better leader you are, the lower you go down the chart, the more people you can support.
Leadership is not only being a salesperson of the vision but it is also motivation and constant management of a team’s potential strengths.
Leadership, as I understand it, is working, living and interacting with people around us with love, integrity and wisdom. Having a godly vision is necessary but how we aim to achieve that vision differentiates a true leader from one who is a fake.
Great idea with this topic, as it is the most important for today’s world to survive.
For me leadership is comprised of three things:
Heart. (must inspire, motivate, encourage, support)
Head. (Must be smart, intelligent, think, integrity, etc.)
Guts. (Must make decisions and stand by them, follow through).
Why do people leave companies?
Because they are not encouraged, or challenged, or supported by their leader, or all three!
There has been many good ideas above. I agree; dictatorship works only in the Military and 3rd. world countries perhaps, but this is not a way to motivate, inspire and make people love what they do.
I was interviewing some people for my team last week, and they asked me how I manage my team? I said that I will never dictate what to do, I want everybody to have fun and work in the same time. We spend 8-12 hours in the office, there is no reason we can’t have a lot of fun, while still acting professional and work, and believe me, you will have the most motivated team on earth, ready to do anything for you and the company.
I told them that I am a support to them, so that they can do their job.

Leadership is all about CHOICE not a condition. It is about the PEOPLE you lead and not the position you sit. It is about TEAM PLAYING not lone playing. It is about leading in your area of GIFTING not are of skill. It is about CHARACTER: Who you are and not Competence: what you do. Leadership is about the JOURNEY not the destination. And most importantly, it is about COMMUNICTING TO PEOPLE THEIR WORTH THAT THEY COME TO SEE IT IN THEMSELVES. This is because EVERYTHING RISES AND FALLS ON LEADERSHIP.
Leadership is about influence, not because of position, power or authority accord to the ” Leadership ” A good leader has willing followers and followers willing to follow the leader. A good leader has a clear vision and able to share, motivate and lead the followers towards realising the vision.

“Powerful leaders influence the masses to take positive action — in ways, means and directions — that the individual would not possibly have taken of their own accord. They influence positive changes and developments.”
