Do You Have A Bucket List?
If you have watched the show Bucket List, you will know that it is a show about 2 men who have been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Instead of lying down in a hospital ward and wait for their impending doom, they escape and head off in a road trip to accomplish a list of “To-Dos” list before they die.
One of the characters, Carter, writes a “bucket list”, or a list of things to do before he “kicks the bucket” (or die in plain English). To me the best part of the show is that they decided to really live life to the full and chase their dreams. This took a lot of courage and determination. Moreover, it made me cry.
One thing that totally struck me was that these two guys were really living and very different from many people in today’s society where a lot of people feel that dreams and reality are two opposing forces. I started to ask myself, what will I really want to accomplish before I die:
Here’s my bucket list:
- Go skydiving
- Finish an iron man competition
- Learn polo
- Be proficient in mandarin
- Speak to a crowd of at least 5000 people
- Drive a race car and speed (really speed at 210kmh)
- Travel around the world for 3 months straight
- See the Grand Canyon
- Be part of the Oktober Fest in Germany
- Be driven into the Istana and have a drink with the president
- Talk to multinational CEOs from Fortune 500 companies
- See Christ Redeemer in Brazil
So… my question, will you start living and pursue your bucket list? Will you leave your comments and share your bucket list?

Hi Kenneth,
My bucket list to not have the 3 regrets – before I kick the bucket -that RK’s sister, Venerable Tenzin mentioned:
1. Did not take Quantum Leap – I signed up @ MMI weekend
2. Did not say what they want to say to whom they want to say it to – Communication is key to happiness
3. Did not forgive – As the creator is ever forgiving, so we can too.
Million thanks for sharing!
I agree with your post in that we should take a first step (and more) towards living our dreams. Since we spend most of our lives on our careers, having a fruitful career would make most of our lives more fulfilling. I’m glad that I’ve helped people find and develop their talents, and helped them achieve their dream careers, so that they work not as a chore, but as a choice of living life fully. A fruitful career makes you and the world richer, and developing the talent in you becomes my gift and reward.
Life beyond career requires more thought beyond our purpose in society to our purpose in life. My bucket list in line with career is to achieve global recognition for my success in finding, developing, organizing and recognizing talents. It may not even make sense to some, but it means the world to me.
Other secondary goals include traveling the world with my family and friends, driving a silent cabriolet (I actually dislike the loud drone of super-cars like Ferrari or Lamborghini) down a cool stretch of road (eg ECP).
My advice is, if you find nothing unique or specific in your bucket list, you’ve not tried hard enough. So try harder and think for yourself today.
I need to thank you such a lot of for the work you have made in writing this piece of writing. I am hoping the same perfect work from you down the road also.
